Our Vision

Let us use the 5W1H to explain more about our vision.

讓我們利用5W1H的方式來解釋我們的願景!

When?

SDA17 was officially launched in May 2022. Preparing, planning, executing, and launching the project took around 8 months. With article publication in both languages, action planning, volunteering opportunities, and execution, the process of building the project took nearly half a year. Even today, the project is still ongoing, with updated articles from time to time and providing new volunteering opportunities monthly.

Who?

International students at 17 years old from Taiwan, the team has set its goal to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals as an endeavor to make the planet a better place. Born and raised in Taiwan, we hope to integrate our cultural identities through the project, gathering teenagers from all around the world to work collectively on the project!

What?

SDA17 is an ongoing project founded by a group of teenagers that address the seventeen sustainable development goals regarding educating, informing, and taking action. The core underpinnings of the project align with the goals of United Nations Sustainable Development, organizing the project’s principles that intend to design a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all". Through the published articles comprising analytical research regarding the goals, SDA17 hopes to create a platform that provides an opportunity for teenagers to write and voice their opinion in the articles.

Where?

Despite most of the members being international students from Taiwan, SDA17 is open to participants around the world. As the Sustainable Development Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals, the project is not limited to only a certain area. For instance, the project serves as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure peace and property globally, therefore SDA17 has opened up the opportunity for those around the world.

Why?

As the earth belongs to everyone, everyone living on the planet bears a responsibility to take care of the planet they are using. Despite the overwhelming scale of the problems, the public remains unaware of the existence of the SDGs. Therefore, through the publication of research articles and access to volunteer opportunities, SDA17 hopes to educate and inform the public, spreading awareness. Ultimately, the project hopes to encourage teenagers to express their views, as the team of this project has integrated their subjective opinions through writing the articles, presenting different opinions regarding different aspects of the United Nations' goal.

How?

Through spreading awareness on social media platforms, and working with non-governmental organizations and existing organizations, SDA17 hopes to address the global challenges, achieving a better and more sustainable future.
